The Legend Behind the Name
In the 1970s, locals whispered about a strange figure roaming the woods of Northern Virginia — a man in a bunny suit, wielding a hatchet, warning trespassers to keep away. He became known as the Bunnyman.
When we opened our first brewery in Burke, we knew this urban legend was the perfect symbol for what we wanted to build: something mysterious, a little chaotic, and uniquely tied to Fairfax County. The Bunnyman story is at the heart of our brand — playful, daring, and unforgettable.

Our Beginning
Bunnyman Brewing opened in Burke with one simple mission: help make Burke cool. We started small, tucked away by the tracks, with a taproom that quickly became a local gathering spot. From the start, we focused on creativity, community, and keeping everything we brewed close to home.
Our Growth
What began as a single neighborhood brewery has grown into a three-location Fairfax County legend:
- The Legend — Burke: Our first taproom, the birthplace of Bunnyman Brewing.
- The Prison — Lorton: A café and taproom built inside the historic Lorton Prison grounds.
- The Factory — Chantilly: Formerly Mustang Sally Brewing, now our production hub and taproom.
With the addition of Owner Sean Hunt and the talented Mustang Sally brewing team, we’ve expanded our capabilities while staying true to the playful, community-driven vision that started it all.

We brew exclusively in Fairfax County — every pint is made right here, for the people who built us. We host festivals, partner with local schools and organizations, and create spaces where community thrives.

Meet The Team
The owners and brewers behind Bunnyman Brewing — the people who turned a Fairfax County legend into three taprooms.
Sam Gray — Co-Owner
A lifelong Fairfax County resident, Sam served for decades in Fairfax County Fire & Rescue before co-founding Bunnyman Brewing. He’s deeply committed to giving back to the community while helping grow the brewery into a true community hub.
Eric Barrett — Co-Owner
Eric grew up in Fairfax County and worked in the tech industry for 25 years before bringing the Bunnyman vision to life in Burke. Focused on storytelling and brand identity, he ensures the brewery stays true to its roots — playful, mysterious, and always tied to the community that built it.
Sean Hunt — Co-Owner
Founder of Mustang Sally Brewing, Sean brings years of brewing expertise and business leadership to the Bunnyman family. With a background as a corporate attorney turned brewer, he balances tradition and experimentation, guiding the expansion of The Factory in Chantilly.

Behind every glass of Bunnyman beer is a team of brewers who balance science, creativity, and a little bit of chaos. Our crew combines the passion that built The Legend in Burke with the experience and scale of The Factory in Chantilly.
From crisp lagers to experimental one-offs, the brew team makes sure every beer is rooted in Fairfax County and brewed to the highest standard.
Together, Brewers Sasha Gregory & Ryan Shintani lead the charge, shaping both the recipes and the brewing culture that define Bunnyman Brewing today.
Sasha Gregory — Head Brewer
Sasha brings both scientific precision and creative flair to the brewhouse, with a background in Chemistry and a decade of brewing experience. Originally the Head Brewer of Mustang Sally Brewing, Sasha continues to lead the team as Head Brewer at The Factory in Chantilly where she drives innovation, consistency, and quality in every drop of Bunnyman beer.
Ryan Shintani- Brewer
Ryan loves fusing science and art, and strives to bring that mindset to every Bunnyman brew. He brings ten years of brewing experience and an MS in Chemistry to the team, as well as a love of wordplay that often shows up in our beer names.
